Given the time period at which Rumiko Takahashi published Ranma 1/2, this artbook is good, if not very good. The only disappointment was how everything looked like watercolor. I expected better quality images from Rumiko Takahashi, but alas, she has failed to produce a better illustration artbook. On another note, the book is filled, and i mean FILLED, with Ranma illustrations. Sure, some of them are floating around on the internet, but some of these are absolutely gorgeous. Gorgeous maybe overdoing it, but I can't seem to write a review on this artbook without bias. I am a huge Ranma 1/2 fan, so, to me, this artbook is one of my prized possessions. The beginning of the book are posters of the main characters followed by some black and white pages of screenshots of the manga. Afterwards, there are the popular illustrations, some shown below, and then another set of black and white screenshots of the manga. Then the book focuses mainly on Ranma, and the different poses. If you are a Ranma fan, buy this artbook. It is an absolute must. For non-Ranma fans, don't buy it just to collect. Only fans will appreciate this artbook. Enjoy~ |
