I bought this artbook simply because I like Wataru Yoshizumi’s art style and Marmalade Boy is one of my favorite shoujo manga. There are 60 full color illustrations, one double-sided pullout poster, followed by a message from the manga-aka herself. Even though I cannot read Japanese, I have always liked those messages; it is nice to see that author take the times to talk to her fans. Majority of the illustrations here are for Marmalade Boy. There are also 13 pages dedicated to her other work Handsome Girlfriend. However, illustrations for Handsome Girlfriend are not as cheerful as Marmalade Boy. Nonetheless, artworks from both series are adorable. I love the colors and background used. They are simple yet bring forth nice results. Overall, this is a great artbook for fans of shoujo manga or Wataru Yoshizumi’s works. Get it while you can, I am sure you will not be disappointed. |
