Colorful Melody is a small soft-cover book filled with vibrant pictures themed mainly around dounjinshi style artworks. Azumi's artworks are the first three examples and Mizuki's are the last two. The first half is by Azumi Tohru, who seems to like a lot of shonen-ai themed pictures. There are a few of girls though. The artwork is vibrant with a cloudy glow, filling up mostly all of the page and a few double-spread pages. There are mostly Gundam Wing dounjishi artworks, but I also see Aquarian Age and Naruto. Her art seems to utilize a lot of crosses, wings, magic, and clouds. The second half of the artbook is by Ken Mizuki, who has a more of a lighter water-colored style. However, there are a few pages solidly colored, giving an anime feel. Ken Mizuki utilizes a lot of clouds as well, but you would also find a lot of flowers. Overall, this is a really nice book to add to your collection if you really like doujinshi artworks, or if you are just looking for pretty artwork in general. The price says otherwise however. (I believe it has gone down though.) |
