Ivy's Rating - Excellent

Illustrations found here are from the manga Candy Candy; collaborated work of writer Kyoko Mizuki and illustrator Yumiko Igarashi. Being an out-out-print book dated from the late 70's, pages are rather thin and the spine isn't as tight. Book is accompanied by two double-sided pull out posters. Unfortunately, my second hand copy only comes with one.

The first 62 pages consisted of colored illustration. There are 7 double-spreads which contains Mizuki's poems. As for the single-spreads, most of them featured Candy in all type of poses, smiling of course. There are plenty of illustrations of Terry and Candy together as well. The last 8 monotone pages concluded the artbook with excerpts from the manga.

Overall, this is a lovely artbook loaded with lovely illustrations. However, it is difficult to find nowadays. Even if you are able to, the price will be outrageous. Nevertheless, it makes a great addition to your collection if you like Yumiko Igarashi's style or Candy Candy.

Other Note: Both front and back covers of this book are identical, however, the front has Japanese title and the other has English text.
